On May 4-5, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria, Alexander Maisuradze, conducted a working visit to the Federal State of Styria.
Within the framework of the visit, the Ambassador held meetings with the Governor of Styria, Mario Kunasek, the President of the Styrian Regional Parliament (Landtag), Gerald Deutschmann, the Mayor of Graz, Elke Kahr, the Director of the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karl-Heinz Dernoschek, and the Director of the Chamber’s Internationalization Center, Karl Hartleb.
During the meetings, the discussions focused on the longstanding and productive cooperation between Georgia, particularly the Kakheti region, and the Federal State of Styria, as well as future plans and prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
The Ambassador also conducted meetings with the Dean of the University of Graz, Peter Riegler, the Dean of the Montanuniversität Leoben, Peter Moser, as well as Georgian students currently studying in Austria within the framework of the partnership between Georgian Technical University and Montanuniversität Leoben.
