Working Visit of the Ambassador of Georgia to Upper Austria
On 13-14 March 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria, Alexander Maisuradze, conducted a working visit to the federal state of Upper Austria.
During the visit, the Ambassador held meetings with representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of Upper Austria, including the Governor of Upper Austria, Thomas Stelzer, the President of the Upper Austrian Regional Parliament (OÖ Landtag), Max Hiegelsberger, and the Vice Mayor of the City of Linz, Karin Leitner. The discussions focused on the close and friendly relations between Georgia and the Republic of Austria, as well as on prospects for further strengthening cooperation at the regional level across a wide range of fields.
The Ambassador also met with the Head of the Department for Economic Policy and Foreign Trade at the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Robert Leitner. The parties exchanged views on a broad spectrum of opportunities for future economic cooperation.
During his visit, the Ambassador attended the Divine Liturgy officiated by Abbot Ilia (Chaduneli), the head priest of the St. David the Builder Church in Vienna.
Following the liturgy, the Ambassador met with representatives of the Georgian diaspora.
