On May 10, 2026, a commemorative ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the former Mauthausen concentration camp was held.

On May 10, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria, Alexander Maisuradze, together with representatives of the LEPL State Service of Veterans Affairs, participated in a commemorative ceremony held on the grounds of the former Mauthausen concentration camp to honour the victims and mark the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp.

The Georgian delegation laid a wreath at the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Mauthausen concentration camp and paid tribute to their memory.

At the memorial plaque dedicated to the Georgian soldiers who perished in Mauthausen and the nearby concentration camps, Father Arsen conducted a memorial service in remembrance of their souls.
